Physical Therapist/Day Shift

Encompass Health is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist for a Day Shift position within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. As a key member of our interdisciplinary rehab team, you will provide evidence-based, patient-centered physical therapy to adults recovering from illness, injury, surgery, or complex medical conditions in an inpatient rehabilitation setting. You will be responsible for performing comprehensive physical therapy evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, setting measurable functional goals, and delivering therapeutic interventions that promote mobility, strength, balance, and independence. Working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, occupational and speech therapists, and case managers, you will contribute to holistic care plans that support safe discharge and long-term functional outcomes. Daily responsibilities include conducting one-on-one therapy sessions, utilizing therapeutic exercise, gait and transfer training, neuromuscular re-education, functional training, and appropriate modalities; documenting all assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries in the electronic medical record in a timely and accurate manner; educating patients and families on home exercises, mobility techniques, safety, and equipment use; and actively participating in team conferences and care coordination meetings to ensure continuity and quality of care. You will adhere to regulatory standards, infection prevention protocols, and organizational policies while maintaining the highest standards of professional ethics and clinical quality.
