This role sits within the Clinical Trial Foundations (CTF) technology team, driving data engineering, analytics, and digital enablement across clinical trial systems. The Microsoft Fabric & Power Platform Developer will focus on building scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric, while also developing Power Apps-based operational tools that consume and act on this data. The role emphasizes a data-first architecture, where Fabric serves as the backbone, and Power Platform (Apps, BI, Automate) enables interaction, visualization, and workflow automation.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Dataflows Gen2).
Build and maintain Lakehouse architectures for clinical and operational data.
Develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines integrating multiple enterprise and clinical systems.
Manage data orchestration, scheduling, and monitoring.
Ensure performance optimization and efficient data storage (OneLake).
Integrate data across multiple platforms (clinical systems, operational tools, external sources).
Develop transformation logic using Power Query (M language), Fabric Dataflows, SQL/Spark.
Ensure data quality, validation, and consistency.
Maintain data lineage and governance standards.
Build and optimize Power BI dashboards and reports.
Develop semantic models and DAX measures for enterprise reporting.
Enable self-service analytics while maintaining governance and performance.
Translate complex datasets into actionable insights.
Design and develop Power Apps (Canvas and/or Model-driven apps) for operational use cases.
Implement role‑based access and secure data interactions.
Develop automated workflows in Power Automate to trigger data pipelines, manage approvals and alerts, synchronize data across systems.
Reduce manual intervention in operational and reporting processes.
Troubleshoot issues across data pipelines, apps, and dashboards.
Monitor system performance and proactively resolve bottlenecks.
Continuously enhance scalability, reliability, and user experience.
Work closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and developers to gather requirements and translate business needs into data models, applications, and dashboards.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
3–5 years of experience in Power Platform and/or data engineering roles.
Strong hands‑on experience with Power BI (DAX, data modeling, reporting), Power Query/data transformation, and data integration and pipeline development.
Strong SQL and data modeling fundamentals.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Fabric Lakehouse, OneLake, Data Factory.
Experience with Spark/PySpark.
Familiarity with Azure Data Services (Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake).
Experience in clinical trials, life sciences, or regulated environments.
Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance.
Experience with API integrations and real‑time data processing.
Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps practices for data solutions. xcfaprz
