Surgery - Transplant Physician

Location: Newark, NJ
Coverage Dates: March 2026 November 1, 2026
Privileges: Full, temporary, or emergency privileges available

Schedule & Setting

• 40 hours per week
• Alternating weekly schedule:
• 1 week inpatient service with call
• 1 week outpatient transplant clinic
• Inpatient: 8:00 AM 4:00 PM + call
• Outpatient: 8:00 AM 4:00 PM

Patient Volume

• Inpatient: Average 8 patients
• Clinic: Average 15 patients

Clinical Responsibilities

• Management of lung transplant patients
• Bronchoscopy
• Thoracentesis
• Chest tube placement

Practice Model

• Work directly with the Medical Director of the transplant program
• Multidisciplinary lung transplant team environment
• Pulmonary/Critical Care fellows rotate through transplant service

Advanced Practice Support

• APP support available
• Collaborative/shared responsibility model

EMR

• EPIC (clinic and hospital utilize the same system)

Requirements

• Completed lung transplant fellowship or transplant training
