Gastroenterology Physician

Location: Plattsburgh, New York
Setting: Inpatient Coverage & Elective Endoscopy
Assignment: 1 Week Per Month Ongoing

Facility : Level III Trauma Center

Schedule & Coverage

• Approximately one week of coverage per month
  • Typical hours: 7:30 AM 5:00 PM
  • Ideal schedule Monday Sunday
  • Monday Thursday: inpatient coverage and elective procedures
  • Friday Sunday: 24-hour call coverage on select days
  • Flexible scheduling structure

Clinical Responsibilities

• Perform endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures
  • Manage inpatient consults and follow-up care
  • Provide consultative GI services to the hospital

Patient Volume

• Approximately 40 procedures per week (elective + urgent/emergent)
  • inpatient consults

Typical Daily Flow

• 7:30 AM 12:00 PM: procedures
  • 1:00 PM 5:00 PM: inpatient rounding and consults

Support Structure

• Nurse Practitioner / APP support
  • Minimal oversight of inpatient NP

EMR

• Epic

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
