*Position Title: *Early Intervention Speech Language Pathologist
*Location: *Tuscaloosa County (immediate need)
*Hours: *Flexible
*Weekly Hours: *minimum of 5 sessions per week
*Classification:* 1099 Contractor
*Compensation*: $70
*Duties*
* Conduct comprehensive assessments of young children’s speech, language, and communication skills using standardized tools and clinical observations.
* Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each child's unique needs, focusing on early intervention strategies.
* Deliver engaging therapy sessions that promote speech clarity, language comprehension, social communication, and overall developmental progress.
* Collaborate with families and caregivers to educate them on techniques and activities that support ongoing progress at home.
* Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and patient records in compliance with regulatory standards.
* Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including pediatricians, occupational therapists, and educators to ensure holistic support for each child.
* Stay current with the latest research in speech therapy, pediatrics, physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to provide the highest quality care.
*Experience*
* Prior experience working with children is highly preferred.
* Demonstrated expertise in pediatrics and early intervention services with young children.
* Strong knowledge of speech therapy techniques.
* Proven ability to perform patient assessments accurately and develop effective treatment strategies.
* Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, families, and interdisciplinary team members effectively.
* Familiarity with medical terminology related to pediatric health conditions is a plus.

*Work Environment: *
Primarily field-based work—homes, childcare centers, and telehealth (as needed) The environment might include distractions such as television, other children present, pets, and other noises; low or over-bright lighting. Work may be stressful at times.
*Physical Requirements: *
Requires ability to work around individuals with developmental disabilities duties in a variety of community settings. Work surfaces or parking areas may be uneven and difficult to maneuver. Must be able to lift and carry children. Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend or crouch. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer, telephone, copier and other office equipment as necessary. Requires normal range of hearing and vision. Requires driving locally and out of town.
*Technology Requirements:*
Laptop or tablet -must have a way for parents to sign note
Access to internet connection or hotspot while visiting homes.
Business or Enterprise level Antivirus software (a list can be provided)
*Qualifications/Education:*
1. Master’s Degree in Speech/ Language Pathology.
2. Certificate of Clinical competence in Speech/Language Pathology.
3. License from Alabama Board of Examiners in Speech and Language Pathology and Audiology.
4. Experience working with infants and toddlers and/or preschoolers with developmental delays.
5. Knowledge of child development.
6. Skilled in effective oral and written communication.
7. Computer skills, including word, database functions and spreadsheets.
8. Valid driver’s license and proof of acceptable automobile insurance.

Job Type: Contract
Pay: $70.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 5 per week
