DBFL is seeking enthusiastic Structural Engineers to join our dynamic team. With an expanding workload across a variety of sectors, we can offer broad experience across public and private sector projects. Opportunities are available in Dublin and Galway.
The successful candidates will become members of highly experienced teams supporting growth and development of engineers. They will be involved in the design of structures, preparing and reviewing structural analysis and design calculations, assisting with drawings for conceptual and detailed design, and undertaking regular site visits to ensure construction compliance with the design. Candidates need to demonstrate a solid understanding of structural analysis fundamentals and familiarity with Eurocodes.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Strong analytical knowledge and understanding of engineering principles.
Demonstrable buildings-focused structural engineering design skills.
Ability to work constructively in a team, finding holistic building design solutions in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Perform site visits and inspections to monitor project progress, quality, and adherence to specifications.
Understand commercial implications of design decisions and strive for efficient structural solutions.
IT skills and experience with MS Office; experience in CAD and structural analysis software is an added advantage.
Clear communication in sketching, speaking and writing.
Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills, with ability to balance tasks and prioritise to meet strict deadlines.
Desired Qualifications & Requirements
At least 3 to 6 years of structural engineering experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Minimum Level 8 Civil / Structural Engineering Degree (Hons) and working towards Chartered status with Engineers Ireland.
Customer‑focused with growing client relationship management skills.
Ability to mentor junior staff.
Leadership qualities and desire to develop client relationships.
A current driver’s licence is desirable.
