About the role We are looking for a strong software engineering leader to help scale how we build product at Modelon. You will lead software engineering teams responsible for core software capabilities, strengthen execution across multiple teams, and help create the conditions for high‑quality, predictable delivery.
This role is for someone who combines people leadership, sound technical judgment, and operational discipline. You do not need to come from our exact domain, but you should know how to build healthy engineering organizations and how to turn product ambition into shipped software.

What you will do
Lead, coach, and develop engineering managers and software engineers across multiple teams.
Create clarity, focus, and accountability around priorities, delivery, and ownership.
Partner closely with product management, architecture, and other technical leaders.
Improve how engineering works across planning, execution, quality, and collaboration.
Support strong trade‑offs between delivery speed, product quality, technical debt, and long‑term platform health.
Drive hiring, team development, performance management, and organizational design.
Help strengthen engineering culture, including ownership, feedback, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Ensure teams have the right conditions, capabilities, and leadership support to succeed.

What we are looking for Required experience
Several years of experience leading software engineering teams in a product company.
Experience managing managers and/or leading multiple engineering teams.
Strong track record of building effective engineering organizations and improving delivery.
Experience working closely with product management and technical leadership.
Good understanding of modern software engineering, architecture, and platform development.
Strong people‑leadership skills, including coaching, hiring, feedback, and performance management.
Ability to create clarity and momentum in complex and evolving environments.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strongly beneficial
Experience from SaaS, cloud‑native, or platform‑oriented software products.
Experience leading teams building product platforms, technical workflows, or developer‑facing capabilities.
Experience improving engineering effectiveness through CI/CD, testing, observability, and developer productivity.
Familiarity with AI‑assisted software development and tools such as Cursor, OpenAI Codex, Claude Code, or similar.
Experience from technically demanding product domains with expert users.
