Reporting to the IT Director, the Network Engineer is responsible for the operation, security, and day to day maintenance of the systems network, and voice communications. Role includes installing, configuring and upgrading network infrastructure and associated devices, applying standards and procedures defined by HQ. Diagnosing and troubleshooting both common and unusual network problems. Performing preventive maintenance on the network, along with monitoring performance on both the local area network (LAN) and wide area network. We are currently seeking a candidate who is able to work on-site at our client’s office in New York City. This is a hybrid position: two days a week from home, three days a week at the office. Troubleshooting Level 2 network issues at the headquarter and at the client’s stores spread across US and Canada. Resolves complex issues involving a wide range of technologies. Works with carriers and configures/troubleshoots Internet, Broadband, MPLS, SD-WAN and other WAN circuit types and equipment. Configuration of switches, firewalls, access points and routers. Configuration and troubleshooting of the VoIP phone system. Understanding Network support priorities and objectives and taking an active role in accomplishing them. Review technical requirements, establish project milestones and tasks, and determine level of effort estimates for their completion. Performs system administration functions necessary to support continuous day-to-day system operations. Performs expansion, relocation and consolidation of IT and OT systems for designated corporate locations. Develops and maintains IT and OT system documentation. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university. Hands on, demonstrable experience in the following technologies: Cisco, Cisco Meraki, HP, Palo Alto. Strong network fundamentals including the OSI model, TCP/IP, IPv4 and working knowledge of IPv6. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications and implement network configurations that meet those documented requirements. Good written and oral communication skills; good interpersonal skills. Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills. Ability to travel within the US and Canada. Nice to have: Italian as second language.
