Essential Functions Continue to grow the robust Vascular Surgery practice at Seton Hays, a busy suburban hospital and a Level II trauma hospital. Deliver high-quality clinical care, participating in on-call coverage, staffing outpatient clinics, managing perioperative patients, and responding to daily consultation requests. Actively contribute to the education of medical students and general surgery residents. Build and strengthen partnerships with referring physicians, hospitals, and ancillary care providers in Austin and Central Texas. Assist in developing the data and evaluation infrastructure needed to routinely assess clinical quality metrics and patient outcomes. Participate fully in departmental activities and comply with all departmental policies and expectations. Qualifications: Required: Medical degree from an accredited medical school; Current Board certification in Vascular Surgery (or board eligible) Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Texas (or the ability to obtain prior to appointment); Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary academic environment; Outstanding clinical teaching skills; Innovative self-starter with a commitment to excellence; Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills; Eligible for appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank in the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at Dell Medical School at UT Austin. Preferred: Experience delivering care through a multidisciplinary team; as well as an interest in driving scientific inquiry and clinical/translational research. #healthstartshere3
