Your Role and Responsibilities
- Enhance wellbeing, readiness for learning, resilience, and behavior management within Holdsworth School.
- Collaborate with the education team to support young people's personal and academic growth by removing barriers to learning.
- Promote positive learning behaviors among students.
- Lead classes during PPA and absence cover, with planning support from teaching staff.
- Deliver engaging enrichment activities during golden time.
- Assist in lessons, addressing academic, pastoral, emotional, or behavioral needs.
- Respond to immediate concerns and clarify situations as they arise.
- Create and compile information related to lessons and interventions.
- Prepare relevant information for meetings about pupils.
- Be a passionate advocate for the ethos of Holdsworth School.
- Lead initiatives in Reading and Phonics, tracking progress made by students.
- Develop the Pupil Voice role, collaborating with SLT on the Pupil Council.
- Build strong relationships with parents/carers, actively participating in transitions and consultations.
What We're Looking For
- A strong educational background, with at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics, along with solid IT skills.
- Previous experience in a similar role, such as HLTA.
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
- Confidence to take on additional responsibilities in areas like Food Hygiene, Forest School, Lunchtimes, or School Yoga.
- Proficiency in behavior management techniques.
- A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
