Our client is a well-established and highly respected manufacturing business experiencing continued growth. They are now looking to strengthen their commercial team with a driven Business Development & Sales Coordinator to help identify new opportunities, expand market presence, and develop long-term customer relationships.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong sales or business development background who also brings a technical understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities across target markets Generate, qualify, and convert sales leads into new commercial accounts Manage inbound and outbound sales enquiries, ensuring opportunities are maximised Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers to drive repeat and long-term business Prepare quotations and proposals, including interpreting technical requirements and specifications Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to support accurate quoting and customer discussions Conduct market research to identify new sectors, customers, and growth opportunities Support and attend client meetings to assist with business development activity where required Work closely with internal engineering, production, and operations teams to ensure customer requirements are met Maintain accurate CRM records and provide regular updates on pipeline activity and performance Support the wider commercial team in achieving and exceeding sales and growth targetsIdeal Candidate:
Previous experience in internal sales, external sales, or business development Strong technical background within a manufacturing or engineering environment Ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings Experience within injection moulding, plastics, or similar manufacturing sectors (highly desirable) Proven ability to generate leads, develop relationships, and close opportunities Strong commercial awareness with a proactive, results-driven approach Excellent communication and negotiation skills Highly organised with strong attention to detail Confident using CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and sales tools Able to work independently while contributing effectively within a team
