Depending on your shift, on any given day you might:Greet visitors, check company IDs, and provide temporary IDs at building entrancesEvaluate and screen the audience line at live TV showsBe a security presence at movie premiers, live performances, events, or private partiesPatrol hallways and building perimeters to spot safety issues or irregularitiesFill out the logbook precisely and completelyAnswer questions asked by visitors and employees in a friendly, professional wayUse your know-how and training to diffuse a tense situationRespond to medical or fire incidents, and work directly with local first respondersAssist private security details brought by celebrities, sports stars, politicians and visiting dignitaries – even the President has been known to stop byControl messenger flow and package deliveryUtilize technology to report and document incidents and manage information flowPerform walk-through evaluation at off-site eventsHere’s what you will need to be successful in the job:1 year of corporate security, law enforcement or military experienceExcellent communication skills, including fluent written and spoken English, and strong command of basic English grammarAbility to make quick decisions using your training and common senseThe knack for talking to people in a friendly way that gets resultsA “team” orientation and willingness to collaboratePhysical ability to perform all aspects of the job and be outside in all weather; andFlexible workdays/hours (this is a “shift work” role) and ability to work some overtimeIt would be a plus if you also have these skills:Valid Security Guard license issued by your stateKnowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteExperience working under pressureAbility to take command and diplomatically control difficult situationsEducation is important to us, here is what we are looking for:High School Diploma or equivalent requiredAssociate degree or higher preferredSome of the perks we offer include:Taking part in ongoing learning on subjects such as CPR, Imminent Threat Assessment and First Aid training.Attending a movie screening or television taping, enjoying the full array of benefits offered by The Walt Disney Company including paid time off, 401K participation, a retirement savings plan, discounts on a wide variety of offerings, medical/dental/vision insurance and educational reimbursement-just to name a few!#DisneySecurity

#corp_mediaThe hiring range for this position in New York is $25,560.00 to $34,200.00 per year based on a 30 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
