Overview Eliassen Group is hiring for Technical / Software Engineering Coaches to join a Software Dojo for a major airline. Positions are available on a Consulting basis (W2 Employment or Corp-Corp) in support of a Fortune a major airline that wants to teach technical staff how to develop software and products using software engineering best practices like XP, Code Smells, Code Sniffs, Mutation Testing.
Positions are available interview, hire, and begin work in April 2026 and/or May 2026.
Responsibilities
Help to create a technical / software Dojo environment ("technical accelerator" where technical excellence and best practices can be practiced and mastered)
Coach XP, code smells, mutation testing, and principles related to code craftsmanship
Help up-skill developers to include technical and cultural components
Ability to coach through optimizing current architecture to support modernization efforts
Experience with transitioning large monoliths/legacy environments into cloud/modern/digital technologies
Knowledge of Jira and how to handle the controls and compliance that are baked in
Shift the mindset from "I\'m just a pair of hands, tell me what to do" to ownership from the technical team member seat
Seek a Technical Agile Coach who has a programming background and experience (specific language not a priority)
Code craftsmanship / being a software artisan with the desire to upskill other technical team members
Qualifications
Experience coaching software development practices (XP, mutation testing, code craftsmanship) and related principles
Programming background; specific language is not a priority
Ability to coach through modernization efforts and architectural optimization
Experience transitioning large monoliths/legacy systems to cloud/digital technologies
Familiarity with Jira and governance/controls in a regulated environment
Compensation and Benefits Rate: $100 - $150/hour
W2 employees of Eliassen Group who are regularly scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week are eligible for benefits including medical, dental, and vision plans, pre-tax accounts, 401(k) with company matching, and life insurance where required by state/local law.
