About the Organization The profession of interior design is regulated in 38 jurisdictions across the United States and Canada. The Council for Interior Design Qualification (CIDQ) is an association of state and provincial licensure boards that regulate the profession in those jurisdictions. Established in 1974, CIDQ supports the regulation and the profession of interior design by providing NCIDQ Certification, which ensures that Certified interior designers have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to practice in a way that protects the public’s health, safety, and welfare. CIDQ, through NCIDQ Certification, provides professional recordkeeping services ensuring that licensure jurisdictions can verify the certification status of interior designers through our secure system, as well as supporting the jurisdictions in the pursuit of reasonable regulation of interior design.
Summary of Position The Junior Project Manager & Data Analyst will support CIDQ’s growing portfolio of work, which includes long-term strategic initiatives, annual operational processes, and data-focused decision-making. He/She is responsible for the successful completion and delivery of a wide range of mission-critical and operational projects, from research to business analysis to communication to operational projects. They are also responsible for data identification, extraction, analysis, and reporting of trends, patterns, and insights. Provide technical expertise and guidance to internal staff and external partners around effective data analysis. The ideal team member is a highly effective communicator, collaborator, and team-oriented individual.
Essential Duties Project Management Scope
Serve as project manager for a diverse portfolio of new, ongoing, and operational projects. Critical responsibilities include ensuring that these projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and to quality standards. Specifically,
Managing assigned project development from beginning to end in conjunction with the project sponsor, including
Proactively manage changes to project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans in conjunction with the project sponsor
Effectively communicating project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
Fostering a collaborative project team environment to achieve desired outcomes, including status updates
Creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation
Conducting project postmortems and creating a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
Developing best practices and tools for project execution and management
Assisting in coaching, mentoring, and motivating staff to help facilitate effective execution and communication on projects
Data Analyst Scope
Identify, extract, and analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights
Track exam revenue performance and prepare a forecast to support budget development
Generate reports and present findings effectively to diverse stakeholders and audiences to understand data-driven decision-making
Collaborate with the team to understand organizational objectives and provide guidance on potential ways data can support these initiatives
Create internal documentation outlining database structures, processes, and procedures to ensure understanding and consistency of data
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field OR equivalent, related experience
3-5 years of experience in a role with a similar organization or similar essential duties
Data analysis/SQL training or relevant credential a plus
CAPM/PMP or another relevant credential is a plus
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, volunteers, leadership, peers, consultants, and other departments
Respond to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently
Flexible during times of change or transition
Comfort with the unknown or not clearly defined
Ability to read the communication styles of team members and partners who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines
Ability to defuse tension among project teams, should it arise.
Ability to analyze and resolve project-related issues as they arise
Ability to collaborate with team members to build project structures for successful project completion
Proficiency in SQL Server database management systems (highly desired)
Expertise in data reporting and analysis tools, as well as data visualization tools such as Tableau
Knowledge of data modeling principles and experience in designing and implementing database schemas
Organize and implement projects and tasks within an allotted timeframe
Strong presentation and facilitation skills
Actively listen and accurately and effectively convey information, verbally and in writing, to staff, leadership, volunteers, consultants, and other stakeholders
Contribute to team processes and outcomes in a collaborative, constructive, and productive fashion
Work effectively and efficiently without close supervision
Think and act with discipline consistently
Work quickly and accurately, and with high attention to detail
Efficiently and effectively use Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and other productivity-enhancing tools

Remote Work The individual must maintain the ability to work fully remotely with limited supervision while remaining accessible to collaborating with teammates. A remote work environment must include a dedicated workspace in a distraction-free area and internet speed sufficient to meet job requirements, which includes participation in video conferences over multiple hours. Individuals must reside in the DMV.
CIDQ holds mandatory quarterly in-person staff meetings at CIDQ Headquarters in Alexandria, VA.

The salary range for this position is $75,000–$85,000, depending on experience.
