Job Description and Duties Our ISOF/Security Engineering team is currently seeking an Information Technology Specialist II to recommend and implement new security controls, analyze and evaluate security risks in new projects, and drive the CalPERS mission. Opportunities include conducting proof of concepts with the latest security technologies and leading as Technical Project Lead when implementing new solutions.
Telework This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with up to two days of remote work and three days or more onsite per week.
Sponsorship This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship. CalPERS does not participate in E-Verify for employment authorization purposes.
Special Requirements Statement of Qualifications
Applications must include a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) titled “Statement of Qualifications.” The SOQ must not exceed two pages in length. Please respond to the following questions:
Please describe a time where you had to implement a new security control. What was your role? Was it successfully implemented? How did you measure success?
Please describe a time you had to troubleshoot a complex IT issue. What was the issue? What steps did you take to troubleshoot the problem? What made the issue complex?
Minimum Qualifications All experience and education relating to the Minimum Qualifications (MQs) listed on the Classification Specification should be included in your application package. If you are using education to meet MQs, please include transcripts. Foreign degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency.
