*Role:*
A Technical Support Engineer’s primary role is to deliver outstanding technical support to existing clients. In our company, everyone has to do a bit of everything, but the work will mainly involve:
* Remote support for Microsoft 365, Windows Desktop and Server systems (occasionally Mac OS X)
* Regular remote maintenance checks for contract clients
* Configuring systems for new projects – computers, routers, switches, cloud services etc.
* Answering phone and email enquiries
* Improving internal systems for efficiency or cost-savings.
* Occasional travel to customer sites in either a company vehicle or their own vehicle. Mileage paid.
* Any other duties required to support day to day business operations.
*Job Term:*
The role is for a permanent position, with a probationary period of 6 months.
*Location:*
We are based in newly renovated offices in Downpatrick. The role will be mainly based at this office, but travel to customer sites may be required, and the nature of the role is such that some working from home could be a possibility.
*Hours of Work:*
40 hours / week (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm)
Occasional evening and weekend work, with time off in lieu.
*A candidate would have:*
A good understanding of core IT areas, such as:
* Basic networking
* Domains and DNS
* Windows 11
* Microsoft 365 services, such as Email, OneDrive, Office software
* Security concepts
* Backup concepts
We’re not specifying a number of years’ paid experience in IT, and would be delighted to interview recent graduates, however an interview will include some basic skills and aptitude tests relevant to the role.
As important as hard skills are, so too are soft skills. We require people who:
* Speak fluent English.
* Are patient and understanding when supporting customers.
* Are honest and trustworthy. Some of our Public Sector clients may require security clearance checks to be completed.
* Approach their work in a systematic way, with good attention to detail.
* Have the ability to work both alone and as part of a team.
*Desirable experience or qualifications:*
While full and ongoing training will be provided, it would be beneficial to the company for a candidate to have experience or qualifications in the specific products we use:
* Microsoft 365 Fundamentals or Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
* Microsoft 365 business licencing
* Bitdefender Gravityzone Antivirus
* AutoTask PSA
* Datto RMM
* Datto SaaS Backup
* Microsoft Azure platform
* Synology NAS systems
* Draytek and PFsense routers
* TPLink Omada switches and wifi
* cPanel Web Hosting
*Salary: *
£22,000 to £30,000pa, depending on experience and qualifications.
Plus annual bonus from profit-share scheme.

Pay: £22,500.00-£30,000.00 per year
