Principal Engineer (12 months - Galway Based)

Are you ready to take the lead in building a cutting‑edge Application Security Platform? Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced Principal Engineer to spearhead a new squad dedicated to enhancing security across a vast landscape of web applications.

• Design, develop, and maintain innovative security tools such as SAST, SCA, and secret scanning within CI/CD pipelines.
  
• Collaborate with teams to integrate policy management and security profiling into developer workflows.
  
• Foster a culture of engineering excellence, improving automation, test coverage, and production health.
  

• 
  
• 8+ years of experience in enterprise application design using Java, Python, or Go.
  
• Proficiency in frameworks like Spring and Angular, and tools like Maven, Git, and Jenkins.
  
• Experience with Kubernetes or similar platforms, and hands‑on application security knowledge (Pen Testing, SAST, DAST, etc.).
  
• Strong understanding of unit and functional testing tools (JUnit, PyUnit, Cucumber, etc.).

• Strong engineering acumen in deploying scalable applications.
  
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  
• A passion for mentoring and guiding less experienced engineers.
  
• Agile experience (Scrum) and a knack for problem‑solving in ambiguous situations.
