We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our veterinary team. We are a team that focuses on client relationships and great veterinary care. The ideal candidate will assist veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to dogs and cats. This role requires strong animal handling skills, technical proficiency, and a thorough understanding of veterinary procedures and terminology. The Veterinary Technician will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of our patients through clinical support, laboratory work, and client communication.
*Responsibilities*
* Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures
* Perform animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for both animals and staff
* Conduct laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures
* Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian
* Perform animal catheterization, venipuncture, and other technical procedures with aseptic technique
* Maintain accurate medical records and document all treatments and observations
* Provide pet care including grooming, feeding, and basic pet training when needed
* Assist in reception duties including answering phones, scheduling appointments, checking patients in, taking payment.
* Operate X-ray equipment safely to obtain diagnostic images
* Maintain cleanliness of the treatment area following infection control protocols
* Educate pet owners on animal care, health maintenance, and post-treatment instructions
*Experience*
* Previous veterinary technician experience is preferred; recent graduates with relevant clinical internships are encouraged to apply
* Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures for dental cleanings and treatments
* Experience with animal physiology, anatomy, and critical care techniques such as animal catheterization and aseptic procedures
* Laboratory experience including sample collection and analysis
* Skills in dog handling, animal restraint, and pet care are highly valued
* Familiarity with veterinary terminology related to animal health and veterinary critical care practices is essential

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $26.00 per hour
