The Fighters Mission Systems Avionics team is seeking an Auxiliary Processors Equipment Lead Engineer in Berkeley, MO . This position leads development, integration, test, and sustainment activities for auxiliary processors on Fighters programs including the F-15 and F/A-18 aircraft. Auxiliary processors handle sensor and weapon system inputs, perform complex computations, and drive displays in the cockpit. The selected candidate will work with customers and suppliers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements, lead and coordinate work to analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications. The candidate will lead efforts to test and validate system designs to ensure operational and functional requirements are met, coordinate with others to develop program test strategies, conduct program independent reviews and report to program leadership, provide support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle, and research technology advances for potential application to company business needs. The candidate will be recognized as an expert in process development, equipment qualification, physical and functional integration, installation design and resolving supplier technical issues.
Position Responsibilities
- Lead work with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to develop and document requirements, designs, and specifications
- Lead efforts to test and validate system designs to ensure operational and functional requirements are met
- Advise, assist, and check the work of a team of equipment engineers
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- Experience developing, integrating, and testing avionics or mission systems
- Experience developing platform/subsystem Interface Control Documents, Supplier Statements of Work, and technical platform/subsystem specifications and requirements
- Experience with coordination between internal teams, customers, and outside suppliers
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
- Experience with electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and functional diagrams
- Knowledge of software requirements, software environments, and platform Operational Flight Program development
- Knowledge of configuration, change, and Risk/Issue/Opportunity management processes
- Knowledge of quality inspection and acceptance processes such as Fleet Impact Assessments, Authority To Ship, Nonconformance Records, Notice of Escapements…
- Familiarity with Agile development process
- Project Management/Control
