Length of Assignment: 18 months +. Hybrid: If located in LA, Riverside, Orange, or San Bernardino Counties, onsite will be hybrid with 2 days in the office. Remote applicants are considered but must be willing to work M-F 8 AM – 5 PM PST (generally) with some planned onsite presence required for critical or key project activities.
Responsibilities
Facilitate IT business process mapping and requirements clarification to ensure alignment with functional needs, technical delivery, and IT system integrator area of responsibility.
Develop a comprehensive resource plan based on technical scope, including roles, skillsets, and effort and cost estimates across workstreams (integration, data, infrastructure, testing).
Support the development and refinement of a high‑level solution blueprint that defines scope, schedule, and budget from a technical lens — integrating infrastructure, data flows, and system interfaces to inform delivery planning.
Plan and coordinate the Planning & Analyze phases, including solution design validation, technical feasibility reviews, and preparation for Build phase activities such as environment readiness, development sequencing, testing strategy, and deployment rollout.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, computer science, or other business‑related disciplines (including liberal arts majors). Minimum 10 years of experience.
Experience managing large IT programs, resource planning, solution blueprinting, implementation planning, and overall end‑to‑end delivery management.
Large‑scale IT program/project management in utilities or regulated industries; experience with AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure), smart grid, or large electric utility technology and infrastructure projects (AMI 1.0 or 2.0 preferred).
Understanding of the meter‑to‑cash process end‑to‑end.
Cloud migration/implementation experience (moving from on‑prem to cloud).
Experience with utility technology needs, including strategic objectives and areas of investment focus.
Ability to deliver technical information to a non‑technical audience as well as to senior leadership.
Experience with major data conversion projects (millions of records).
Proficiency in utilizing data sets (MS Excel & Pivot Tables at minimum) to create and analyze information.
Experience in corporate strategy, strategic planning or strategy/management consulting.
MS Project (required).
Octane (nice‑to‑have; strong plus if proficient).

Salary Salary range for this position is $180,000 – $220,000. The starting salary will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment.
Work Environment and Physical Demands Candidate may reside outside of CA and work fully remote; however, if local to LA, Riverside, Orange, or San Bernardino Counties, onsite will be hybrid with 2 days in the office.
Physical demands: Ability to sit/stand for up to 8 hours per day; ability to move freely for up to 8 hours per day.
