Responsibilities
Manage assigned software applications and create policies, procedures, and processes to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Configure and monitor software applications, perform application and systems maintenance, and ensure SLAs are met.
Create and maintain system or application documentation.
Conduct systems analysis, troubleshoot custom applications, and assess hardware, software, and network systems.
Interact with end users and IS&T technical staff to determine program needs and resolve hardware or network issues.
Implement modifications, upgrades, patches, and program fixes; coordinate testing, scheduling, and vendor activities to minimize downtime.
Schedule and perform installation of new software releases and system upgrades; evaluate and install patches; debug software problems; download or upload data as required.
Understand application inter-connectivity, interfaces, and collaborate with technical resources to ensure proper integration.
Provide technical support, training, and assistance to end users; notify users of scheduled or unscheduled downtime and coordinate training.
Provide help desk support, receive and fulfill service requests, troubleshoot and resolve complex problems; document problem resolution and report status.
Establish processes for application monitoring and implement solutions to maintain functionality and data integrity.
Understand database elements, write queries and reports, generate documentation, and provide status reports of upgrades, patches, and modifications.
Prepare forms, reports, correspondence, logs, flow charts, training reports, technical documents, and other documentation; maintain logs of work activities and system modifications.
Communicate with supervisors, employees, technology staff, County departments, vendors, and public agencies to review status, exchange information, and resolve problems.
Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies and business processes of operating systems and software including database, server, networking, security, internet, and mobile.
Provide Tier 2 level support and on‑call support.
Additional Functions
Assist other employees or departments as needed.
Perform related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
Four (4) years of experience involving application administration, data management, or software systems; experience in SQL, Crystal or SSRS reporting or an equivalent combination of education and training.
Promotion Track
Applications Specialist – starting at $54,149.00/yr. Minimum requirement: high school diploma or GED, undergraduate coursework or vocational training in computer science, information systems, applications management or related field, plus two (2) years of relevant work experience.
Applications Administrator – starting at $72,190.00/yr. Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s Degree plus four (4) years of relevant experience.
Applications Administrator, Sr. – starting at $77,079.00/yr. Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s Degree plus five (5) years of relevant experience.
Benefits
