We're looking for an Electronics Design Team Leader to drive the development of complex, high-reliability power systems, while leading, developing, and growing a team of engineers.

The Role
This is a dual technical and people leadership role (approx. 60/40 split), where you'll:
Lead the design and development of low-voltage electronic subsystems within advanced power equipment Take full ownership of the hardware development lifecycle - from concept through to validation and production Provide hands-on technical direction across power electronics, analogue/digital design, and FPGA development Line manage and develop a team (~5 engineers), including: Performance management and reviews Coaching, mentoring, and career development Resource planning and team growth Drive engineering best practice, ensuring compliance with standards such as ISO9001 and IEC safety requirements Work cross-functionally with teams across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain
What We're Looking For
You'll bring a strong mix of technical expertise and proven people management experience:
Technical Experience
Solid background in power electronics and complex hardware design Experience with FPGA or CPLD design (VHDL or Verilog) - ideally using Altera or Xilinx Knowledge of analogue and digital electronics, PCB design, and system-level integration Experience across the full hardware development lifecycle in a regulated environment Familiarity with Altium Designer (Zuken experience is a plus)
Leadership & Management
Proven line management experience (not just project or technical leadership) Demonstrated ability to manage performance, develop individuals, and build effective teams Experience leading teams of at least 2-3 engineers, with accountability for delivery and people development Strong communication skills with the ability to influence across multiple stakeholders
