Analytics Engineer Loenbro, a nationwide construction lifecycle partner, seeks an Analytics Engineer to design, build, and maintain data pipelines, models, and architecture that enable reliable reporting across its business units. The role works within Microsoft Fabric, shaping raw data through medallion layers (bronze, silver, gold) and delivers trusted datasets to the BI team.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain data pipelines ingesting data from ERP systems, project management platforms, APIs, and other operational sources into the lakehouse on Microsoft Fabric.
Ensure data quality standards by building validation logic, monitoring pipelines, and resolving data integrity issues prior to reporting.
Implement the medallion architecture, structuring bronze, silver, and gold layers for clean, consistent, and ready-to-use data.
Create and maintain fact and dimension tables and semantic models that serve as the authoritative data layer for all reporting.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and support business metrics and KPIs.
Document data models, pipeline logic, and transformation rules for team understanding and platform extensibility.
Manage deployments using SDLC and ALM best practices, including version control, environment promotion, and change management.
Stay current on Microsoft Fabric capabilities and recommend enhancements to the data platform architecture.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field.
3–5+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering.
Hands‑on experience building and maintaining production data pipelines.
Experience with medallion architecture (bronze/silver/gold) and lakehouse design.
Proficiency in Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouses, Data Warehouses, Dataflows Gen2, Data Pipelines, PySpark Notebooks, OneLake).
Required.
Strong SQL skills: complex queries, stored procedures, transformation logic, performance tuning.
Required.
Python or another scripting language for pipeline automation, data transformation, and tooling.
Required.
ETL/ELT design patterns and integration from multiple source systems.
Knowledge of OneLake, Delta Lake, and Parquet storage formats.
Version control (Git/Azure DevOps) and CI/CD practices applied to data pipelines.
SDLC and ALM discipline for moving solutions from development to production.
Strong command of fact and dimension table design (star, snowflake, conformed dimensions).
Experience building and publishing semantic models/datasets for BI reporting.
Data quality, lineage, and governance principles understanding.
DAX proficiency for semantic layer logic, calculated measures, and KPI definitions.
Ability to optimize semantic models for performance, scalability, and reuse.
Preferred
Power Platform experience (Power Automate, Power Apps).
AI/ML exposure—integrating AI‑assisted pipelines or LLM outputs into data workflows.
Software development background in additional languages.
Microsoft DP‑700 (Fabric Data Engineer Associate) or DP‑600 (Fabric Analytics Engineer) certification.
Construction or heavy industry experience.
