Job Summary:
The Operational Excellence Field Specialist is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives across the organization to optimize operational efficiency, quality, and productivity. This role leads strategic projects focused on process improvement, cost reduction, and performance enhancement, ensuring alignment with the company’s operational goals and business strategy
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Lead and manage continuous improvement programs across all operational areas using Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
- Identify opportunities to improve performance, reduce waste, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Develop, implement, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to analyze processes, identify root causes of inefficiencies, and implement sustainable solutions.
- Facilitate workshops and training sessions to promote a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Oversee standardization of best practices, process documentation, and workflow optimization across departments.
- Manage strategic improvement projects from concept to completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives and measurable ROI.
- Support change management initiatives to ensure successful adoption of process and system improvements.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute the Operations Excellence roadmap.
- Benchmark internal performance against industry standards to identify emerging trends and opportunities.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5–8 years of experience in operations management, process improvement, or business transformation roles.
- Proven track record implementing Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies (Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred).
- Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, or service operations is highly desirable.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in both office and active construction site environments.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and move around construction sites for extended periods of time.
- Capable of climbing ladders, stairs, and scaffolding to access various work areas when required.
- Must be able to bend, kneel, and crouch as needed to inspect work or evaluate processes on site.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials or equipment up to 25–30 pounds occasionally.
- Tolerance to varying environmental conditions including noise, dust, heat, cold, and outdoor weather.
- Must have adequate vision and hearing to safely navigate job sites and observe operational activities.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, high-visibility vests, and steel-toe boots.
- Requires up to 100% travel.
