We are seeking a design intern for a 10‑week summer internship program running from Monday, June 8 through Friday, August 14. To be considered, candidates must be a current senior, post‑graduate student, or recent graduate. Applications without a portfolio will not be considered.
You will work with some of Edelman’s largest clients and learn from award‑winning Creative teams. You’ll render creative depictions of programming ideas, produce images that tell stories, and transform text‑heavy slides into graphic representations. You’ll also counsel teams on feasibility, collaborate with designers and art directors, and use a toolbox of skills to quickly turn content into beautiful documents.
Responsibilities
Work closely with creative leadership to concept and plan execution
Develop conceptual and stylistic direction and execute same for a wide variety of communications projects
Create campaign ideas for case studies, pitches and client presentations
Lead and participate in creative brainstorms
Develop tactics which bring creative concepts to life and achieve program objectives
Review and edit files and drive client approval process
Manage time and establish priorities while maintaining flexibility to respond to changing demands
Work effectively with external vendors and internal colleagues to complete projects within timeframe and budget
Manage multiple jobs simultaneously
Work closely with a project manager to schedule projects and coordinate production
Coordinate and collaborate with Edelman’s design network
Sharp eye for layout consistency for format, and amazing attention to detail
Create highly conceptual pieces of work that achieve client and business goals
Qualifications
A BFA in Fine Arts, Advertising or Graphic Design, strong understanding of graphic design, strong layout and composition with keen eye for typography
Experienced with InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, PowerPoint and Microsoft Office Suite
Experience in Premiere Pro and After Effects is a huge plus
Portfolio reflecting experience in branding, presentations, infographics, digital/interactive, advertising and print design
Strong verbal communication skills
Ability to work cross‑functionally and with a fast‑paced team
Keen attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Ability to own projects, demonstrate good judgment when working with team members and client contacts, and take initiative
A diverse portfolio reflecting work across print, digital and social media
Demonstrated experience with concepting highly creative designs
Additional Information
Program Duration: Monday, June 8 – Friday, August 14, 2026.
In order to be considered, you must be a current senior, post‑graduate student, or recent graduate.
This role is hybrid; interns will be onsite 3 days/week.
Interns are paid $22/hour and are expected to work a full‑time schedule (40 hours/week).
Edelman does not provide any form of housing reimbursement.
