Temporary Consultant Gastroenterologist

Our client is seeking a Temporary Consultant Gastroenterologist to join a progressive and multidisciplinary clinical team. This role offers an opportunity to deliver high-quality gastroenterology and general medical services in a dynamic healthcare setting.

• Provide consultant-level care in gastroenterology, including outpatient and inpatient services

• Perform and oversee diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures (e.g., gastroscopy, colonoscopy)

• Manage a broad range of gastrointestinal and hepatology conditions

• Participate in general medical on-call rota as required

• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across specialties

• Contribute to service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives

• Supervise and support NCHDs and other junior staff

• Registration as a specialist in Gastroenterology (or General Internal Medicine with a special interest in Gastroenterology) with the Irish Medical Council or eligibility for same

• Demonstrated experience in endoscopy and acute/general medicine xcfaprz

• Strong clinical, leadership, and communication skills

• Commitment to delivering patient‑centred care

• Subspecialty interest (e.g., hepatology, IBD, advanced endoscopy)

• Experience working within the Irish healthcare system

• Involvement in research, audit, or teaching
