Our client, a leading civil engineering main contractor, is looking to appoint an experienced Design Manager to support the delivery of a growing portfolio of infrastructure projects across the North West.
This is a key role within the business, responsible for managing and coordinating the design process from tender through to construction, ensuring designs are safe, compliant, and buildable.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the design process across multiple civil engineering projects Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, including consultants and subcontractors Ensure design outputs meet programme, budget, and quality requirements Review and challenge design proposals to ensure buildability and value engineering opportunities Manage design risk and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations Oversee design assurance and approval processes Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and internal delivery teams Support bid and tender stages with technical input and design planningWhat We're Looking For:
Proven experience as a Design Manager within a civil engineering main contractor Strong background in infrastructure projects (e.g. highways, structures, drainage, utilities, or rail) Excellent understanding of design management processes and project delivery Ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills Commercial awareness...
