Economic Development Data Content Strategist

Job Duties
Analyze and manipulate data sets to find insights.
Create accurate and up‑to‑date visualizations of data sets.
Write compelling research‑driven stories about data and its relation to the line of service.
Provide frequent Economics Development data reporting to the department and organization as needed.
Identify data gaps, recommend improvements, and assist in making workflow improvements through managed software, systems, or programs.
Work through incremental data processes to test recommendations and adjust further as necessary.
Manage visualization tools, including licensing, training, and educating staff.
Query different data sources while handling a continuous stream of data requests from multiple stakeholders.
Evaluate, recommend, and implement improvements to existing processes, configurations, documentation, and reporting, automating recurring analysis and building reusable processes.
Communicate conclusions and recommendations based on data analysis findings.
Develop systems and guidelines for housing data from varied sources.
Collaborate with the Data Governance team to ingest, transform, and QA relevant data sets.

Minimum Qualifications and Special Requirements
Undergraduate degree in a position‑related field or equivalent job‑related experience.
At least 5 years of relevant experience.
Understanding of digital mediums, technologies, and trends.
Passion for innovation on all fronts.
Strong analytical skills and working knowledge of Power BI.
Success in presenting strategic solutions.
Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills, especially Excel.
Knowledge of Economic Development‑aligned software systems such as ArcGIS, Costar, Placer.ai, Lightcast, EnerGov, etc.
Licensing/Certifications
Valid Arizona Driver's License.
This is an at‑will, FLSA exempt‑ineligible position. Hybrid work is eligible: approximately half the time on site and half remote, with Monday and Thursday remote days and Tuesday‑Wednesday on site.
