Team Overview The Network Engineering Data Center Services team is responsible for the configuration, support, and management of Routing/Switching, and DDI (DNS/DHCP/IPAM) technologies.
Responsibilities
Management and configuration of Cisco Nexus and Catalyst data center infrastructure
Support and administration of Software Defined Networking (SDN) elements, including VXLAN and VMware NSX
Provide operational support to include problem-determination, resolution, root cause analysis, and future mitigation
Perform analysis of network security needs and contribute to design, integration, and configuration of networking hardware and software
Coordination and implementation of software upgrades and hotfix installations to support business requirements
Participation in a Tier-3 support escalation and on-call rotation is required
Engage in cross functional collaboration with engineering teams and application owners to drive project success
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, Computer Science, Business, or other analytical disciplines, or equivalent experience
4+ years of experience in an IT Engineering discipline or related IT Engineering function
Experience with data center networking support and troubleshooting spine/leaf, NDFC, NSX, and VMware
Knowledge of a wide variety of networking components including Cisco Routers, Switches, MPLS, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF
Successful and proven track record of leading large-scale projects
Extensive background in the design, planning, and implementation of complex networks with the ability to learn quickly
Knowledge of network security standards, system hardening best practices, and vulnerability remediation
Experience with network management platforms and products
Participation in a Tier-3 support escalation and on-call rotation
Willing to work evening and overnight hours based on project needs
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing a Spine/Leaf network fabric using Cisco Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller (NDFC)
Familiarity with VMware VCF, NSX, and DFW
Experience with enterprise DNS, DHCP, IP Address Management
Knowledge of DNS best practices to include securing of enterprise services
Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages (Ansible, Python, Terraform, etc.)
Proficiency with networking tools including Splunk, Wireshark, CA Spectrum, change management and ticketing systems
Understanding of networking security and firewall policy
Support experience with cloud-based applications
Certifications related to core technologies
