Conducting detailed analysis on performance, risk, style, holdings, and qualitative attributes of funds available through Principal’s investment platform.
Preparing detailed performance and analytical reports, sharing insights and recommendations to ensure alignment with world‑class standards.
Proactively educating and updating business partners within the sales distribution channel.
Conducting training sessions for both new and existing employees to guarantee effective implementation of sales strategies.
Performing other job‑related duties or ambitious special projects as required.
Who You Are
Bachelor’s degree (Financial or Business preferred) or equivalent, plus 2+ years of related experience.
CFA, CAIA, or CIMA candidacy, or progression toward designation, or equivalent experience, is desired.
Strong proficiency with Morningstar Advisor (or similar tool) and Microsoft Office applications PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
Strong analytical, organizational, time‑management, and outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Good understanding of the asset management business and investment products.
Diligent with ability to communicate professionally and build relationships with various collaborators.
Able to efficiently research, analyze, and synthesize information.
Customer‑service and team‑oriented, capable of working independently and managing multiple requests to strict deadlines.
Some travel may be required.
Licenses
Series 7 (to be acquired within 6 months of hiring).
Salary Range Analyst – Investment Analytics: $73,150 – $99,750 per year. Senior Analyst – Investment Analytics: $89,300 – $120,650 per year. Compensation may be influenced by location, experience, and licensing requirements.
Time Off Program Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried employees, offering paid time away from the office for vacation, personal, or short‑term illness. Employees do not accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

Location Des Moines, IA office with a hybrid work arrangement of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.
