Position Highlights:
- Bonus: 5K Sign On Bonus no experience required 10K Sign On Bonus Eligible with minimum of 1 year experience
- Position: Surgical Technologist - Main Operating Room
- Location: Arlington Heights, IL
- Full time/Part time: Full Time, 40 hours/week
- Hours: 7:00am-7:00pm, must be flexible to work between these hours, Weekend as needed
- Identifies and obtains the required surgical instrumentation, equipment and supplies required for surgical procedures based on physicians request and the needs of patient; exchanges drug trays as needed under the direction of licensed medical staff. Inspects, properly cares for and handles surgical instrumentation and equipment appropriately.
- Performs scrub responsibilities according to physician's preference and hospital policies and procedures. Anticipates, and is attentive to, the surgeon's needs for instruments, ligatures, sponges, irrigation, etc. during the surgical procedure.
- Demonstrates the skills necessary to provide a safe environment and communicate effectively with all age groups of patients - pediatric through geriatric.
- Graduate of an approved surgical technology program
- Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association
- Previous experience in surgery or on-the-job experience
- Certification in surgical technology preferred

- Required Travel:
The Surgical Technologist assists surgeons and other healthcare professionals during surgical procedures by providing the appropriate instruments and equipment. The Surgical Technologist ensues the success of surgical procedures by assisting in various tasks while adhering to strict sterile protocols.
What you will do:
- Assist in preparing the operating room for surgical procedures by ensuring all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are sterile and readily available.
- Provides direct patient care by helping with positioning, draping, and preparing patients for surgery while maintaining their comfort and safety.
- Instrument handling and supplies to surgeons and surgical assistants during procedures, maintaining strict sterile technique at all times.
- Performs required pre and post-operative duties and requests as needed
- Collaborates effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare team members to ensure seamless coordination during surgeries.
- Responds to emergencies and unexpected situations in the operating room, following established protocols.
- Maintains accurate records of surgical procedures, instrument counts, and other relevant data as required by hospital policies.
- Assists in inventory maintenance and troubleshoot surgical equipment, ensuring it functions correctly throughout the procedure, preoperatively and postoperatively.
- 1 Year experience in a surgical setting or healthcare environment is preferred; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
