Position Summary:
Coordination of trauma education activities in accordance with American College of Surgeons and New Mexico standards for maintaining level 1 trauma Adult/Peds verification and designation. In conjunction with course directors, coordinate trauma courses, for example, Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Regional Trauma Team Development Course (RTTDC) and STOP the BLEED. Coordination with Unit-Based Educators and Clinical Education to maintain and monitor current educational needs identified within trauma programs.

Detailed responsibilities:
* COLLABORATION - Collaborate with trauma program leadership, clinical educators and multidisciplinary stakeholders to promote continuing education and outreach
* LIAISON - Coordinate and serve as the primary site liaison for American College of Surgeons professional education courses, including: Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and Rural Trauma Team Development Couse (RTTDC)
* ADMINISTRATION - Facilitate course scheduling, instructor credentialing, participant registration, equipment needs, and documentation for ACS verification compliance
* PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT - Maintain current knowledge of ACS course administrative policies and ensure adherence to all accreditation and certification requirements
* COLLABORATION - Collaborate with Trauma Medical Director, Trauma Program Manager, and Faculty to evaluate course effectiveness and incorporate performance improvement outcomes into education planning
* RECORDS - Develop and maintain professional trauma education records for inclusion in verification preparation and reporting
* INITIATIVES - Lead community-focused trauma education initiatives, including STOP the Bleed training for schools, law enforcement, EMS, and the general public
* COORDINATION - Partner with community agencies, schools, and regional coalitions to advance trauma-informed care and early intervention strategies
* OTHER DUTIES - Perform other duties as requested/required
* CONTRIBUTION - Contribute to simulation and skills-based education initiatives in collaboration with Clinical Education
* COLLABORATION - Participate in multidisciplinary committees, trauma conferences, and professional development activities
* ANALYSIS - Support trauma registry and data analytics teams by identifying education priorities based on trend analysis of trauma cases and system opportunities
* REPORTING - Prepare reports and education plans demonstrating compliance with Standard 8.1, including annual education summaries, attendance records, and alignment with the hospital's trauma performance improvement goals
* DATA - Collect participation metrics and outcome data to evaluate program reach and impact

Qualifications

Education:
Essential:
* Bachelor's Degree
* Master's Degree
Education specialization:
Essential:
* Nursing
* Nursing or Related Field

Experience:
Essential:
1 year directly related experience
Nonessential:
3 years directly related experience

Credentials:
Essential:
* RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM
* CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days
* Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification
* TNCC and/or ENPC
* Cert in ATLS, RTTDC, or STOP the Bleed w/in 1 year of hire

Physical Conditions:
Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.

Working conditions:
Essential:
* No or min hazard, physical risk, office environment
* May be required to travel to various work sites
* Tuberculosis testing is completed upon hire and additionally as required
