In this role, you will lead, mentor, and develop a regional materials team, driving innovation and aligning global fabric sourcing, sustainability, and quality strategies across HQ and sourcing regions.

Build and manage a strong global supplier network (mills and garment manufacturers), ensuring right‑first‑time production, on‑time delivery, cost efficiency, and continuous product innovation.


Develop and execute global material sourcing strategies for core and seasonal products, leveraging market insights, raw material cost monitoring, trade show research, and cross‑functional partnerships with Buying, Design, Quality, Traceability, Ethical Trade, and Sustainability teams.


Drive commercial negotiations and supplier performance, leading cost engineering, pricing discussions, and material development initiatives to optimise cost, speed, quality, compliance, and sustainability outcomes.


Act as a strategic connector and influencer across a matrixed organisation, building trust‑based relationships, enabling cross‑functional alignment, supporting executive‑level decision making, and fostering an inclusive, collaborative culture.


Bring deep technical and leadership expertise with 10+ years’ fabric/yarn production experience, strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, exceptional communication, and a proven ability to manage complex workstreams with integrity, diplomacy, and sound judgement.


Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience in yarn and fabric production across major textile and apparel sectors, supported by a relevant degree (Textile Production, Materials, or similar) and a proven global sourcing and development background.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships in a matrixed organisation, including executive‑level stakeholder management, with exceptional communication and presentation skills to convey complex technical and commercial information clearly.
  • Advanced problem‑solving capability, able to provide strategic guidance on complex sourcing, material development, and supply chain challenges while maintaining a calm, fact‑based approach in high‑pressure situations.
  • Strong organisational and project‑management skills, with the ability to lead multiple complex workstreams, prioritise effectively, analyse high volumes of data, and ensure accurate decision‑ready summaries.
  • High integrity leader with strong influencing, coaching, and networking skills, operating with professionalism, diplomacy, and confidentiality while driving continuous improvement, innovation, and effective execution in a fast‑paced environment.
