This medical center provides comprehensive healthcare services to the local community with a focus on pediatric care. The facility features a 6-bed pediatric department and maintains strong relationships with local pediatric practices to ensure continuity of care for patients and families.
Opportunity:
Physician - Pediatrics
Job Details:
• Provide coverage for local pediatric practice with focus on birth-related care only
• Handle 0-5 patient encounters per shift in a 6-bed department
• Coverage typically involves one weekend per month and some holidays
• No emergency room or operating room call back required
• Admissions required but occur very infrequently
• Must be licensed in Alabama or hold IMLC credentials
• Board certification eligible required (board certification not mandatory)
• Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• Credentialing timeframe approximately 45 days
• Comprehensive procedural skills required including ventilation management for newborns and pediatrics
• Must be proficient in intubation, conscious and deep sedation, central lines, and arterial lines
• Advanced procedures include UVC, UAC, lumbar puncture, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and chest tube insertion
• Additional skills required: circumcision, X-ray and EKG interpretation, suturing, and swallow studies
• Level 3 pediatric facility designation
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
