Practice Setting and Clinical Scope
This role involves a hybrid practice setting with responsibilities split between office consultations and inpatient care. Physicians will be part of a two-provider service, ensuring comprehensive coverage alongside another maternal fetal medicine specialist. The practice is heavily focused on high-risk pregnancies, making up 95% of the caseload. Physicians will utilize state-of-the-art equipment, including GE ultrasound technology, to diagnose and manage a range of obstetric conditions.
The clinical scope includes performing advanced procedures such as amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling, and management of conditions like pre-eclampsia, multiple pregnancies, and genetic disorders. The role does not require supervision of other healthcare providers, allowing you to focus intensively on clinical excellence.
Schedule and Assignment Details
The assignment includes a Monday through Friday clinic schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:15 PM, coupled with nightly call responsibilities on weekdays and 24-hour call coverage on weekends. Qualifications
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Maternal Fetal Medicine is required.
- Completion of a fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine is mandatory.
- A valid Virginia medical license is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is essential.
- AIUM Certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Candidates must provide a Self-Query NPDB report at the time of presentation, pulled within the last 30 days.
