Locum Cardiothoracic Surgeon Opportunity Michigan

Seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgeon to provide night call and weekend coverage within a Level I trauma, hospital-based practice.

Position Details:

• Adult patient population

• Provide cardiothoracic surgical care including cardiac and general thoracic procedures

• Coverage includes primarily weekend call (Friday evening through Monday morning) with potential for one additional week of call per month

• Approximately one surgical case per weekend

• Dedicated daytime access to two cardiovascular surgery operating rooms

• EMR: Epic

Required Procedures:

• Adult cardiac surgery including CABG and valve repair/replacement

• General thoracic surgery including lung biopsy, lung resection, pneumonectomy, and mediastinal procedures

• Tube thoracostomy, pericardial window, thoracotomy, and decortication

Requirements:

• Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery

• Active Michigan medical license or ability to obtain

• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required

• Clean malpractice and license history preferred

• NPDB self-query required at presentation

Additional Details:

• Estimated credentialing timeframe is approximately 90 days
