About the Role The Senior Director will guide the evolution of Toolmate to ensure it remains an indispensable, proactive partner for Gartner associates by continuously integrating the latest AI techniques as they surface. By maintaining a consistent feedback loop with internal business leaders and users, the Senior Director will transform user needs into a roadmap that prioritizes agentic reliability, user trust, and measurable productivity gains.
What You'll Do
Architect and lead the development & operational management of Gartner AI Toolmate
Lead testing for emerging technology and help coordinate pilots across IT
Design and lead a hybrid workforce where AI agents, human engineers and end users operate in a continuous feedback loop
Meet with users to solicit feedback and inform our roadmap
What You'll Need
10 years+ as a software engineer and/or solution architect, including 3+ years in a leadership capacity.
Exceptional software engineering skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex problems.
Curiosity and eagerness to constantly learn new technologies.
Ability to manage effectively a team of engineers and AI agents.
Full stack architect/engineer with front‑end, back‑end, database and cloud expertise.
Front‑end: React + Vite + Redux Toolkit.
Back‑end: Express.js (ESM), LangChain, LangGraph, Azure AI Search, Azure Blob Storage.
Exceptional verbal / written communication skills and presentation skills.
Focus on user experience, security, product quality and operational excellence.
