Job Description Select, implement, administer and integrate both purchased and internally developed collaboration applications and cloud‑based tools such as email, web‑based file sharing, videoconferencing, calendaring, Wikis, virtualization technologies, cloud‑based data analytics, network activation, and print services. Support on‑premises infrastructure in support of email. Support and manage Infrastructure as a Service cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.).
Collaboration Systems implements technologies that facilitate communication and collaboration between individuals and groups, both within BC and beyond. This includes e‑mail services, web‑based file sharing, personal and group calendaring, applications virtualization, network device activation services, print management software, the University Event Calendar, and Wikis.
Role‑specific competencies include:
Knowledge of Windows, MacOS, and Linux operating systems.
Experience with directory technologies including the System for Cross‑domain Identity Management (SCIM) and Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP).
Experience with e‑mail standards and protocols (i.e. Internet Message Access protocol (IMAP), Sendmail, and Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP)).
Experience with e‑mail security standards such as SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
Experience with mobile devices, especially IOS and Android devices.
Familiarity with networking, storage, and load‑balancing concepts and best practices.
Knowledge of contemporary messaging and collaboration system administration principles and best practices.
Experience managing and supporting mission‑critical systems/applications.
Work Model: Hybrid. 3 days in‑person required at the discretion of management.
Title and salary commensurate with relevant experience based on the following titles and hiring ranges:
Associate Collaboration Systems Administrator
– Salary range 76,000 to 95,000: Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science or related field. One year of experience supporting messaging and collaboration systems, applications and solutions and providing technical support.
Collaboration Systems Administrator
– Salary range 92,000 to 115,000: Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science or related field. Three years of experience supporting messaging and collaboration systems, applications and solutions and providing technical support.
Senior Collaboration Systems Administrator
– Salary range 107,000 to 134,200: Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science or related field. Five years of experience supporting messaging and collaboration systems, applications and solutions and providing technical support.
Requirements Preferred/desired:
Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science or related field.
Scripting ability in multiple languages (i.e. Python, shell scripts, Java Script, Java, (PHP), Perl and PowerShell).
Configuration formats such as YAML, JSON, and TOML.
Proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL).
Experience with Oracle, MySQL, and SQL Server databases.
Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud, and Azure.
