Client is seeking a Systems Engineer for a permanent/direct-hire opportunity based in Marlton, NJ. Client is an established and growing technology solutions company supporting complex engineering and infrastructure environments across multiple customer sites. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on systems work, thrives in dynamic environments, and is comfortable operating both independently and as part of a broader engineering team. The position offers strong exposure to enterprise systems, virtualization, and multi-environment deployments, with significant travel supporting client implementations. In this role, you’ll be responsible for deploying, configuring, and supporting server and infrastructure environments across a variety of settings. You’ll work across both Windows and Linux systems, assist with automation and scripting efforts, and play a key role in ensuring systems are secure, stable, and operating effectively. Deploy and configure Windows Server systems across enterprise hardware and virtual environments Install, administer, and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems via command line Configure and troubleshoot networking components including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, and interfaces Deploy and manage virtual machines using Microsoft Hyper‑V and related technologies Execute and troubleshoot PowerShell and Bash scripts for automation and system administration Perform system validation, testing, and troubleshooting across environments Support system patching, updates, and security hardening efforts Evaluate system security posture and assist with vulnerability remediation Create and maintain technical documentation, including system configurations and deployment guides Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to support infrastructure across multiple environments Interface directly with end users and stakeholders to resolve technical issues Required Qualifications & Skills
4+ years of experience in systems administration, engineering, or infrastructure support Experience working with Linux systems (RHEL preferred) via command line Hands‑on experience with virtualization platforms (Hyper‑V or similar) Experience with scripting (PowerShell and/or Bash) Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing) Experience troubleshooting system performance, logs, and configuration issues Experience with system patching, updates, and security practices Strong communication skills and ability to work in team‑oriented environments Ability to work in a travel‑heavy role (approx. 70%) Security & Certifications
Active DoD Secret clearance
or ability to obtain one after hire Ability to obtain CompTIA Security+ certification Preferred Qualifications
Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) Familiarity with DISA STIG or security/compliance frameworks Exposure to Helm, microservices, or modern infrastructure environments Experience working in fast‑paced, growth‑oriented technical environments Education
