Senior IT Security Engineer

Job Title: Senior IT Security Engineer (IAM / Ping Identity) – Onsite Dublin

Location: Dublin, Ireland (Onsite 5 days per week – Bank of America facility)

We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Security Engineer to join a leading global financial institution in Dublin. This role focuses on the design, implementation, and support of enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM) and security solutions, with a strong emphasis on Ping Identity and cloud-based authentication.

You will act as a senior technical resource, working across engineering and development teams to deliver secure, scalable systems while supporting key security initiatives across the organisation.

• Participate in requirements gathering and story refinement
  
• Design and implement secure IAM and systems engineering solutions
  
• Support deployment strategies across network, virtualization, and data centre environments
  
• Integrate and manage security systems in line with defined acceptance criteria
  
• Collaborate with development teams to deliver secure system designs and requirements
  
• Work with large and complex datasets to meet security and compliance needs
  
• Build and enhance processes for system transformation, quality control, and workload management
  
• Develop and maintain deployment pipelines to improve delivery and security outcomes
  
• Execute and analyse integration, regression, and performance testing
  
• Troubleshoot and resolve security and system issues, identifying root causes
  
• Produce clear documentation for deployment, maintenance, and support
  
• Identify gaps in security standards and work with stakeholders to remediate
  
• Provide technical leadership and contribute to security-focused initiatives

• 7+ years’ experience in IT Security, IAM, or related fields
  
• Strong experience with SSO technologies: OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, SCIM, LDAP, FIDO
  
• Hands‑on expertise with Ping Identity (PingFederate, PingAccess preferred)
  
• Experience designing and implementing Ping policies and custom IAM solutions
  
• Strong knowledge of Cloud IAM (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  
• Experience integrating and federating cloud applications using PingFederate
  
• Experience with identity synchronisation (PingIDM / SCIM)
  
• Strong development experience with Java / J2EE
  
• Knowledge of Active Directory, LDAP, MFA, risk‑based authentication, and PAM
  
• Broad understanding of IAM including authentication, authorisation, and security architecture
  
• Experience with web technologies xcfaprz (HTML, XML, XSLT, JavaScript)
  
• Strong experience across Linux and Windows environments (Tomcat, WebLogic, WebSphere)
  
• Scripting/programming skills (Python, Java, Shell, PowerShell, etc.)
  
• Understanding of REST APIs and modern application integration patterns
  
• Experience delivering large‑scale, enterprise or global security projects
  
• Good understanding of security and risk management practices
