As a Senior Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer at Honeywell, you will provide technical expertise and support in the materials and process engineering of cast products. You will work as part of a highly engaged and integrated Materials Engineering team, collaborating with Honeywell Aerospace engineering teams to create solutions and systems that meet evolving customer needs. You will participate in all phases of product development and serve as a technical point of contact for less experienced engineers.
You will report directly to the Senior Engineering Manager, work out of the Tempe, AZ location on a hybrid work schedule, and be responsible for supporting new and existing cast products used in aerospace gas turbine engines for propulsion and auxiliary power. Primary responsibilities include material and process development support, drawing reviews, process improvements, and regular interaction with suppliers to resolve issues. Occasional lifting of up to 35 pounds may be required.
Responsibilities
Collaborate between suppliers and Honeywell Engineering, Quality, Supplier Development Engineers (SDE), and Integrated Supply Chain (ISC).
Troubleshoot material and process issues, providing technical solutions for rapid problem solving.
Provide internal engineering support for casting development, drawing reviews, and process improvements.

Qualifications – Must Have
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
Four or more years of experience in materials/process engineering in the casting industry.
Four or more years of experience with nickel, aluminum, steel, and/or titanium aerospace cast alloys.
We Value
Bachelor’s degree with specialization in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Metallurgy, Aerospace Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
Advanced degree in engineering or a related field (a plus).
Hands‑on experience in casting, with investment/sand casting production processes considered a plus.
Familiarity with industrial materials and processing specifications.
Knowledge of Nadcap and industry standards, requirements, and approvals.
Ability to assess new suppliers and determine their strengths and weaknesses.
Experience conducting casting supplier audits (investment castings and sand casting audits are a plus).
Experience working with and developing suppliers.
Experience working with Design Engineering.
Understanding of engineering drawings and requirements.
Experience with Six Sigma, Lean, and other process improvement tools.
