About this role Gartner is seeking a Senior Data Analyst within the Chief Data and Analytics Office. Data Analysts interpret and analyze complex datasets to provide insights and support data‑driven decision making to support product development of data domains and drive business initiatives. This role will support the Master Data Management team, focusing on developing insights from data, supporting requirements, and executing large‑ and small‑scale initiatives.
Responsibilities
Use statistical methods to identify patterns, trends, correlations, and anomalies, and extract meaningful insights to drive product requirements.
Interpret results using techniques ranging from simple data aggregation to complex statistical analysis and create accurate and timely impact analysis.
Identify KPIs and develop metrics to track and measure product performance.
Identify, communicate, and assist with resolving data gaps that impact the delivery of data products.
Evaluate proposed technical solutions to ensure alignment with business needs and functional requirements.
Collaborate across business and technical teams to create Technical Requirements, Functional Requirements, User Stories, and User Acceptance Tests.
Collaborate with QA teams in test plan creation and user acceptance testing to validate delivered solutions meet business expectations.
Gain domain knowledge in relevant business areas, technical options/limitations, and data sources/processes.
Ensure quality through adherence to and support of processes and procedures, including documentation on shared file systems.
Provide support to other data analysts, product owners, and project managers to help drive business initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or another quantitative field.
5‑7 years of experience as a Data Analyst in an analytics‑driven environment.
Advanced proficiency in SQL; understanding of data analysis tools and techniques; Python skills a plus.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to interpret complex datasets and generate meaningful insights.
Self‑starter with the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, complex environment; demonstrates initiative and ownership without close supervision.
Excellent communication skills and ability to convey complex data findings to stakeholders.
Experience with Agile methodologies.
Well versed in utilizing tools such as MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Visio/Lucid Chart, JIRA, and Confluence.
