Job Overview Stanley Consultants is looking for a Mechanical Engineer with facility design experience to join one of our offices. The candidate will design mechanical systems for diverse project types including HVAC, plumbing, steam, hydronic heating and cooling, and compressed air. Projects include renovations and new construction across a range of sizes and markets.
Responsibilities
Serve as technical liaison with clients and coordinate technical efforts within discipline areas. Participate in mechanical design development from conceptual to detailed design, coordinating with other disciplines.
Prepare and check design computations for system design, equipment and pipe sizing, and determine conditions of service.
Lead or mentor less experienced engineers and designers through the design process.
Consult with construction personnel on design constructability, field conditions, sequencing, and scheduling of construction activities.
Attend client and contractor meetings and present technical information.
Use engineering and design software including Revit, AutoCAD, Trane TRACE 3D, Caesar II, and Pipe‑Flo Professional.
Other related duties as assigned by Department Manager or Project Manager.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
8‑15 years of experience in mechanical system design for building and infrastructure projects.
P.E. licensure and willingness to obtain licensure in additional states.
Ability to travel approximately 5‑10% of the time (domestic and international).
Experience with ProjectWise or similar enterprise content management tools preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with energy modeling and AABC CxA certification are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing HVAC, plumbing, central utility plants, and mechanical distribution systems.
Proficiency with Trane Trace, Revit, Pipe‑Flo, COMcheck, and/or BLCC software.
LEED AP BD+C credential and/or GBI Guiding Principles Compliance Professional.
