Position Responsibilities
Build, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
Develop and uphold the company's data architecture, including data models, schemas, and data dictionaries.
Integrate data from diverse sources, ensuring quality and consistency, and prepare it for analytical and operational use.
Adhere to data governance policies and processes to safeguard data security, privacy, and compliance.
Collaborate with data professionals, including data scientists, analysts, and business team members, to comprehend data requirements and devise solutions to meet those needs.
Stay informed about the latest tools and technologies, identifying opportunities to improve Manulife's data infrastructure.
Demonstrate the aptitude to learn and apply established methods in data engineering and cloud computing to ensure scalable, efficient, and effective solutions.
Required Qualifications
2+ years of background as a Data Engineer.
Demonstrable experience in building and operationalizing data pipelines.
Hands‑on experience with programming languages like Python and SQL.
Solid grasp of data warehousing concepts and relational data modeling.
Strong working knowledge of SQL queries, Databricks, Synapse, and SQL Server.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines in the automation of ETL workloads.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS, along with related technologies.
Superb communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical thinking abilities.
Proficiency in data processing, performance analysis, tuning, and resource optimization.
Understanding of Agile Scrum methodologies and experience working in an Agile team.
A dedication to continuous learning and an openness to change and improvement.
Familiarity with production release and operational support models.

If you are applying to this role in Massachusetts, the salary range is $87,990.00 – $163,410.00 USD.
Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
