Job Description We are seeking a Senior QA Engineer to join our Software QA team to ensure high-quality delivery of our software products. This role is critical in maintaining Butterfly’s reputation for reliability, safety, and innovation.
As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be:
Design, document, and execute test cases across cloud, AI-powered, and mobile platforms, ensuring features meet functional, regulatory, and user requirements.
Lead system validation for workflows connecting cloud, AI components, mobile applications, and integrated devices.
Perform end-to-end testing, including mobile-to-cloud workflows, hardware integration with medical devices, and interoperability with external healthcare systems.
Test connectivity and interoperability with healthcare systems such as EHRs, PACS, and DICOM interfaces.
Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to verify that new features perform as expected and meet specifications.
Identify, document, and track defects through the full lifecycle and verify fixes.
Update and improve test cases to support regression testing and continuous quality improvement.
Partner with Regulatory and Quality teams to support audit readiness, traceability, and documentation compliance.
Qualifications Baseline skills/experiences/attributes:
5+ years in Software QA, including cloud and mobile applications.
Experience testing AI-enabled software or cloud-based platforms.
Solid understanding of test planning, execution, and defect lifecycle management.
Knowledge of risk-based testing, validation methodologies, and software lifecycle management.
Experience with connectivity and interoperability testing in healthcare (like, EHR, PACS, DICOM).
Strong cross-functional collaboration from product definition to release.
Experience using Test Management, Bug tracking and reporting tools such as JIRA.
One or more years of experience developing and executing automated tests using Python.
Ideally, you also have these skills/experiences/attributes (but it’s ok if you don’t!):
Experience in a regulated environment (medical device, healthcare, or similar).
Experience with API Testing tools such as Postman.
Knowledge of automation testing frameworks such as Cypress and Pytest.
Location At Butterfly we offer a hybrid work environment. For most employees, this means part time in the office (two or more days a week). Based on functional responsibilities and equipment needs, certain roles will require full time on‑site support and select roles will be eligible to be remote.
This is a hybrid position and will be based out of our office in New York City, NY.

Compensation Our estimated salary for this role is around $100,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Actual pay is determined by multiple factors such as skills, qualifications, experience and market demand.
