Position Overview
BizFirst is supporting our client in identifying a Senior Consultant, Data Engineer, to join a growing consulting team working across industries, clients, and technologies. Open to professionals with Federal public sector experience as well. This role is best suited for a strong mid-level data engineer who wants to broaden exposure across clients, platforms, and solution design.

What You'll Do
You'll help clients modernize data environments and turn business needs into practical technical solutions. The work centers on data engineering, cloud platform delivery, and migration from legacy environments to modern data stacks.
Work with clients and internal teams to understand data needs and translate them into practical technical solutions Help design and deliver modern data platforms, including cloud migrations, data models, and scalable analytics foundations Build and maintain data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration workflows as part of broader platform solutions Contribute to reliable, secure, and cost-effective data environments across cloud ecosystems Partner with analysts, ML engineers, and platform teams to support reporting, analytics, and AI use cases Tools & Tech Stack
Languages & Frameworks: Python, SQL, Spark, Airflow Data Platforms: Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Neo4J or similar modern platforms; experience across multiple platforms is preferred Transformation & Ingestion: dbt, Fivetran, Terraform or similar tools Cloud: Azure, GCP, AWS What We're Looking For

4+ years of experience in data engineering or modern data platform delivery Bachelor's degree in a technical field Strong fundamentals in data modeling, data architecture, and platform migration Hands-on experience with at least two modern data platforms or cloud ecosystems Ability to gather requirements, work directly with clients, and translate business needs into technical solutions Comfortable building data workflows, while also thinking through the broader platform, architecture, and stakeholder picture Ability to balance working independently and being a strong teammate in a fast-moving consulting environment Curiosity and a genuine interest in learning new tools, patterns, and approaches These aren't requirements, but if any of these describe you, we'd love to hear about it: Federal/ Government experience Experience with data architecture design, governance, or platform modernization Certifications in any of the key platforms or tools, such as SnowPro, dbt, GCP Professional Data Engineer, or Databricks Exposure to ML pipelines, MLOps, or AI-adjacent data engineering Perks & Benefits
