The teams you could be joining Realtime Communication Team
Powers the core ticket processing pipeline underpinning Gorgias's helpdesk, owns real‑time event fanout to internal applications (including our AI Agent) and third‑party integrations. The team also maintains and develops voice and SMS channels.
Messaging Team
Owns the core asynchronous messaging infrastructure within Gorgias, enabling agents to manage customer conversations across email, chat, and social channels, it's both the gateway and proxy between Gorgias and the outside world.
Growth Team
Manages the user journey from onboarding to billing, ensuring a seamless experience while preventing fraudsters from abusing the platform.
In‑App Analytics Team
Creates in‑product analytics and real‑time processing features, supporting internal teams with advanced tooling and datasets.
Streaming Infrastructure Team
Builds a scalable data streaming platform, providing tooling, monitoring, and guidelines to propagate and aggregate data across multiple availability zones.
What you’ll do
Design
features, API, and models for 16,000 merchants and 12 million shoppers across the world.
Work
closely with an engineering manager, a product manager, a designer, and seasoned senior engineers.
Collaborate
with other teams within an engineering group of 100+ engineers.
Grow
and
strengthen
your skills by working with frontend, backend, and data pipeline components.
Participate
in solving today’s technical challenges to scale Gorgias’s platform and systems.
Ship
your features in production autonomously.
Monitor
the success of your deployment according to Gorgias’ monitoring strategy and criteria.
Help
customers by debugging, correcting, or providing incident response through a support and on‑call rotation.
Who you are
Tech Stack Proficiency:
You have 6+ years of experience in software development with a strong foundation in backend engineering.
Ideally Python or Java.
Kafka, Pub/Sub, or equivalent.
You’re comfortable working with complex product architectures and have a deep understanding of modern software design principles.
You have experience shipping user‑facing products at scale and take full ownership beyond the code.
You think in terms of systems and are pragmatic when solving problems under real‑world constraints.
You write clean, testable code and care about building high‑quality software that lasts.
You thrive in collaborative environments, communicate effectively, and bring clarity to ambiguous situations.
You value feedback, learning, and continuous improvement for yourself and the team.

Interview process Our interview process consists of 4 main steps and typically takes around two weeks from the initial screening to the offer stage, with feedback provided every 48 hours.
Meet one of our tech recruiters (30 minutes).
Meet two of our Engineering Managers (45 minutes).
Technical Stage: Live system design assessment (60 minutes) & live coding session (60 minutes).
Meet the CTO and co‑founder (30 minutes).
After completing these steps, we conduct reference checks before extending an offer.
