You'll join as a Technical Consultant embedded within a major financial services client's digital platform team in London. Working as part of a small, high-impact Digital Speed delivery squad, you'll shape and build proof-of-concept solutions that validate new payment capabilities on enterprise platforms. * *Integration Support:* Shape and test integration approaches including interface mapping, dependency analysis, API/service interaction design, and coordination with client platform teams.
* *Documentation & Playback:* Deliver concise technical notes, architecture observations, implementation recommendations, and status summaries to support client review.
* *Governance & Collaboration:* Participate in stand-ups, checkpoints, reviews, and stakeholder playback sessions. Provide regular reporting on progress, risks, and dependencies.
* *Cross-Team Support:* Deploy flexibly across multiple workstreams and squads to unblock priority items and accelerate progress.
*Characteristics*
* *Simplify:* Turn complex payment flows and messy requirements into clear, validated technical approaches.
* *High-performance:* Care about feasibility, integration resilience, and delivering outputs that stand up to scrutiny.
* *Collaborative:* Comfortable working across squads, giving and receiving reviews, and communicating technical decisions clearly.
* *First-principles:* Handle ambiguity in early-stage initiatives and make trade-offs explicit.
* *Ownership:* Proactive, organised, and comfortable leading technical workstreams end-to-end.
*Requirements*
* Right to work in the UK; fluent in written and spoken English.
* 3 days a week in travel to Digital Speed HQ, London Paddington.
* 4+ years in a technical delivery role within payments, banking, or financial services.
* Strong understanding of enterprise payment platforms, payment processing flows, and transaction lifecycle management.
* Experience designing and building integrations between payment systems - APIs, messaging protocols, service orchestration.
* Comfortable producing solution architecture artefacts and technical design documentation.
* Hands-on prototyping and proof-of-concept development experience.
* Familiarity with modern CI/CD practices, git, and code review workflows.
* Experience working in agile delivery teams within regulated environments.
