Who We Are Looking For We areseekingan experienced and people-centered Sales Manager to lead, coach, and develop Tommy Gate’s regional sales team. This roleis responsible fordriving sales performance through strong leadership, clear expectations, disciplined execution, and continuous development of sales talent.
The ideal candidate excels at managing people, building accountability, and developing sales talent—while using industry and product understanding to coach effectively, guide execution, and support consistent results across regions.
What success looks like in this role: Regional sales team members are clear on expectations, consistently coached, and held accountable for results; sales performance improves across regions; distributors and customers experience consistent engagement and follow-through; and the sales organization operates with greater discipline, clarity, and confidence.
WhatYou’llBe Doing
Directly manage, coach, and develop Regional Sales representatives through regular one-on-ones, team meetings, and performance reviews.
Set clear expectations for sales activity, behaviors, and results across the regional sales team.
Provide timely, constructive feedback, and address performance issues with a balance of empathy and accountability.
Identify skill gaps and partner with Sales Leadership to implement targeted training and development initiatives.
Foster a positive, professional, and collaborative sales culture across a geographically distributed team.
Industry Experience &Sales Execution
Apply experience in commercial vehicles, truck equipment, or related industries to guide sales execution and team coaching.
Partner with the Director of Sales to establish sales goals, quotas, and priorities for regional teams.
Monitor pipeline health, sales activity, and performance trends; proactively identify and address risks.
Support Regional Sales representatives in navigating distributor relationships, customer dynamics, and complex sales opportunities.
Participate in strategic customer and distributor meetings as needed to reinforce relationships and resolve escalated issues.
Represent Tommy Gate at distributor meetings, open houses, and regional or national industry events.
Product Knowledge & Cross Functional Collaboration
Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of Tommy Gate products, applications, and customer use cases.
Use product knowledge to coach sales team members and support effective customer engagement.
Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Customer Support to improve sales effectiveness and customer experience.
Participate in or lead cross-functional projects focused on improving sales operations, onboarding, forecasting, or internal processes.
Provide structured feedback from the field to improve tools, workflows, and internal coordination.
Distributor & Customer Engagement
Support Regional Sales representatives in managing distributor relationships and key customer engagements.
Participate in strategic customer or distributor meetings (in the field) as needed to reinforce relationships and resolve escalated issues.
Represent Tommy Gate at distributor meetings, open houses, and regional or national industry events as appropriate.
Situational Clarity & Communication
Navigate complex or ambiguous situations involving people, performance, or customers with sound judgment and professionalism.
Clearly communicate expectations, priorities, and decisions to sales team members and internal stakeholders.
Serve as a steady, trusted leader during periods of change or transition.
Experience and Education Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree (BA) from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Prior experience managing and developing sales professionals, preferably in a regional or distributed sales environment.
Experience in outside sales within commercial vehicles, truck equipment, or related industries preferred.

Comfortable working remotely while leading a geographically dispersed team.
Travel Requirement Willingness to travel extensively (up to approximately three weeks per month) to support regional sales teams, distributor engagement, and customer meetings.
