Job Overview Jacobs is seeking an Electrical Design Technician to support advanced manufacturing and high‑tech facility projects for well‑known global clients. This role blends hands‑on field work with detailed electrical design and drafting, supporting complex capital projects from concept through construction.
Responsibilities
Develop detailed 2D and 3D electrical drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks
Create electrical plans including One‑line diagrams, conduit and cable tray routing, equipment layouts and installation details
Prepare complete drawing packages that meet site standards, project specifications, and Basis of Design (BOD) requirements
Support vendor submittals, drawing reviews, document control, and design updates
Perform regular on‑site field assessments to verify existing conditions
Support punch‑list walks and coordinate with construction trades
Ensure design intent aligns with field conditions throughout implementation
Combine field observations with design updates to support constructability
Collaborate closely with electrical engineers, project coordinators and construction trades
Help ensure designs support safe, efficient, and compliant plant operations
Qualifications
Associate’s degree (AA) in Computer‑Aided Drafting and Design or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree
6‑8+ years of progressive CAD drafting/design experience of electrical systems
2+ years of Revit 3D modeling experience
Proficiency with AutoCAD and familiarity with Navisworks
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in semiconductor or advanced manufacturing environments
Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards
Hands‑on experience supporting construction activities and field coordination
Exposure to large‑scale capital projects
Additional Details
This hybrid role requires at least two days per week on a client site or in a Jacobs office, with potential for full‑time presence based on project needs
Requires field mobility including walking long distances, climbing ladders, working in tight spaces, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
Travel may be required
Must pass a background check and drug screening and be fully authorized to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship)

Compensation The base salary range for this position is $66,000.00 to $97,600.00; the role will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
